Looking for elegant silk?

You will find exclusive products in our shop.

Our mission

We discover silk treasures for you in remote places in hard to access developing countries. Elegant scarves from small producers thus reach you directly. You purchase a high quality artisanal item while doing good! By buying from FairSilk you support the livelihoods of small artisans and their families and you help preserve old cultural techniques.

What happens with our profit?
The largest part of our net profit is reinvested in our producers, most of them women. Additionally, a donation of CHF 10.- per item sold goes to the charity  Teach a Child - Africa

The NGO Teach a Child - Africa operates in Kenya since 2007, financing high quality secondary education of academically talented children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Our vision

We want to improve the livelihoods of people in hard to access developing countries by buying directly from them what they produce with their own hands. Our producers usually live outside the capitals. We currently work with manufacturers in Myanmar, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Vietnam.

The people behind FairSilk are experienced professionals in the area of economic development cooperation. Realizing how difficult it is for small producers to export their goods, we became social entrepreneurs. We firmly believe in the transformational power of reliable value-chains and life-changing education. Join us on our mission!
